Monster Catfish

Ok so the story about the 600lb catfish may be true…but not in America!! In Laos and Cambodia they are called the Giant Mekong Catfish and reach up to 10ft and 770lbs. In Europe they are called the European Wels Catfish and can reach up to 16.5ft and 660lbs. In America they general get about 5ft in length and around 100+lbs.
They are not attackers like Pike or Musky but have been known to eat small mammals.
Here are some interesting facts about Catfish:
A 150lb catfish could be a century old
Don’t eat a catfish that big-they carry a lot of mercury among other things
