It is important to remeber that if your fish is not the one you want to keep forever and ever mounted on your wall please release them back into the water. Let multiple for more future fishing. We want to preserve!!!
Here are the safe ways to release your fish:
use barbless hooks
use plyers to safely remove any hooks
always use wet hands and wet cloths in handling your fish
if you can aviod lifting fish from water and never put it on hot dry surfaces
it is better to cut the line if you can not remove hook safely
you want to gentle place fish back into water and give it a little push to let it swim away
