So far the most interesting work I have seen is the Tech Tronic exhibition at Franklin Art works. It is one of those things that you have to read about to really understand but this artist took the classic movie “The Birds” by Alfred Hitchcock and broke it down into 16 parts. I guess there are 16 speaking parts. Then he set it up so that 16 people, each with a different part, watched with the sound off to see their reactions. This was about breaking down a piece of work and the reactions when something is removed from that piece. Some feel asleep, others found something else to do and some tried their best to watch intently.I was most interested in the idea of breaking down a work into the simplest forms to see the differences. I guess to break down my work would mean using each individual item as the only subject in a photo. Line each photo on the wall to show to one group of people. Then putting all those items into one photo and show to a different group to see the reaction. How similar or different would they be? Maybe someday it will be a final project for class.
